Nickelodeon today announced the availability of new apps for the iPhone and iPod touch based on some of its most popular television properties and proprietary websites. “iCarly: Sam’s Remote” and “Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions” join recently launched Nickelodeon apps including “SpongeBob Tickler”, “SpongeBob Jellyfish Jam”, AddictingGames “The World’s Hardest Game” and “iParkIt”, “Shockwave Daily Jigsaw to Go” and “Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom.” Nick’s full suite of apps have had more than 4.5 million downloads worldwide since the launch of its first app in February 2009.
New app “iCarly: Sam’s Remote” allows users to turn their iPhone or iPod touch into Sam’s remote, and includes iconic sound effects from the show like Sam’s insults voiced by Jennette McCurdy animations and more. In “Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions”, users can play along with Diego as he uses music to rescue the shy animals of the world. The new Nickelodeon apps are available for $1.99 each from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
Do your children have either an iPhone or iPod touch? Do you let them play with your phone? I love that Nickelodeon has developed apps for the kids but my iPhone is very much my mobile office and I never let the kids in to my office, so why would I let them play with my phone? It was only a matter of time until Nick started ‘catering’ to their audience via electronic devices. My 8 yo daughter received an iPhone for Christmas and will most definately want the iCarly app~even though her favorite show is True Jackson, VP. I think Nickelodeon and Disney should introduces line of themed accessories (covers, earbuds, etc.)

My kids can’t seem to get enough Spongebob!
My son is 1 & 1/2 and says about 20 words and yo gabba gabba is one of them. He loves Plex and the gang. I love how they add music and dancing to good morals.
Dora, Dora, Dora, the Explorer! My girl loves Dora! Her favorite Christmas gift was a Dora backpack that I picked up on a whim. She has to carry it everywhere. Diego is a close 2nd though. Lol.
